W.A. Smith Foundation is a result of a 3-year dream by one medical student who is now a surgeon-in-training in the U.S. Inspired by experiences in medical school, relationships with individuals of various nationalities, studying U.S. political history, and growing in the love of God, this dream became a reality on May 1, 2008 when the organization was founded. On May 8, 2008, the W.A.S.F completed it’s first project in Zimbabwe.
Consistent with our motto, ‘Invest in Life’, the W.A. Smith Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization that is devoted to creating and investing in projects which improve life - physical and spiritual - throughout the entire world. Specifically, this organization is designed to change life through projects which fortify health, supply employment opportunities, provide medical care, improve education, and spread God’s love. Adopted from the concept of “embedded giving” and the success of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, these projects are funded by numerous, continuous, small contributions by whom else but you! On May 8, 2008, we completed our first project in Zimbabwe by donating the funds necessary to complete a 2 kilometer pipeline which brought freshwater into an area utilized by thousands of Zimbabweans each year for worship services. |
